When I was young we went several times to kandersteg during winter and summer. Now, 20 years later I will stay in Kandersteg in August 2009 with my wife and our kids. PURE NOSTALGIA!!!!!

My Husband and I stayed in Kandersteg for Christmas/New Year 2008/09 and what a wonderful time we had. We stayed in Hotel Bernahof, wonderful hotel, fantastic food/rooms/staff everything in that hotel excellent. Kandersteg village is magical, either in daylight or nightime, so many things to do and see and such nice people with a very big warm welcome. One of our best holidays ever. Thank you so much.

I was at Oeschinensee in 1986(way to long ago)I stayed I think at the Unterbergli Gasthouse (I,m not sure)they had a wonderful German shepard named Tina.She was always with me . I never forget that wonderful place.I,m planning to go back next year.

I came with my family to Kandersteg on a holiday vacation on Sep 2008 for a week.
We had a great time - hiking and enjoying this beautiful and interesting village. We stayed at Haus INTERALPEN and we recommend this house very much!

Just returned from a weekend in Kandersteg, stayed at the Hotel Blumlisalp, found it to be very nice and friendly, highly Recommended! Walked from Kandersteg to Blumlisalphutte and then returned via the frundschnuer. Took 12 hours, but if you have the stamina its highly recommended.

I have been working in Kandersteg from 1987 till 1991 in Hotel Erika and eversince I try to visit Kandersteg every year. I just love it and it makes me feel at home. This year we\'ll come to Kandesteg for 5 days (25 - 29 feb.) and we will stay in Haus Interalpen.
I can\'t wait so drive into the village, the feeling....I can\'t describe! Öschinensee, Gasterntall, Almenalp, Stock, Käseschnitte and offcourse: Christian Hari, my second dady.

I have been to Kandesteg twice before 01 and 05 in the summer months. This time I will be visiting the Scout Centre in Feb first time in winter months. It is an extremly beautiful place to to visit. THe surrounding areas are fantastic. I have enjoyed Summer activities now it\\\'s time for me to do the winter activities. Kandersteg is a delightful town that we spent two weeks in and will definitly be back. The trains get you anywhere easily and there are lots of things to do locally for a truly Swiss experience

Was in Kandersteg for two weeks in June, my 10th visit over 48 years. The Tourist Office was kind enough to present me with a certificate and badge to mark the event. It is a long way from Australia but well worth the long journey. I am 63 years old now but just being in Kandersteg gave me a new lease of life and I surprised myself at how much hiking I managed, even reaching the snow line on several occassions.
I hope to return again in a couple of years.

Fellow Scouters of USA : I have been in Kandersteg three times. & 22 years ago with my Baumholder T. 105 and T 96, some did enjoy it, and some did not. Many units arrive there with out much preparation, phycically, mentally. It is not like our summer camps, which everything is prepared for you, You have to make sure your scouts are properly dressed, and have proper hiking boots ( and not sneakers ) Leaders should research this very carefully, There were many boys in my unit that were not happy. It is a great place.

I worked in Tea-Room Marmotte in 1994-1995. All my free time I spent outdoors, mainly skiing. It was probably the most relaxing year I ever had. Kandersteg is a wonderful place, went there also on my honeymoon. Hope to be able to show it to my kids soon.

I will be visiting Kandersteg with seven other friends on June 7th. We are all staying at the Scout Centre as we are all Scouting colleagues who have been to Kandersteg many times before through Scouting. I was introduced to Kandersteg as a young Scout myself back in the 70’s and have been coming back ever since.
I would say that Kandersteg is the most beautiful place in the World with the friendliest people and I will continue to visit this very special place for a long time yet.

Kandersteg is amazing. Probably one of the most beautiful places I\'ve ever seen.
The Gemmi Lodge is unbelievable: CHF 25 for luxury dorms, swimming pool and breakfast. I totally recommend the place.

I first visited Kandersteg in 1959 and have been back on several visits since then, the last one being in 2003. It is a long way from Australia but Kandersteg is so beautiful and has so many happy memories that I shall be back again, probably in 2007.

We\'ve just spent a very relaxing week in town.
The beauty and the charm of the place makes it a perfect place to stay with family and friends. Don\'t expect to come over only for downhill skiing though!
The only negative point is coming from the quality of the ski rental from Käthy-Intersport, the shop occupying the central place in town. If your looking for fashion wears I believe it\'s OK, but don\'t even try to engage a discussion about ski. Much better advice can be found from any of the 2 others, Grossen or Künzi.

I visited here for the Millenium and stayed in the Scout Centre. We did a lot of skiing which was amazing. It was great to see how a different country celebrates new year. They get dressed up as christmas trees .

In 1963 I went on a school visit to Kandersteg and the beauty just took my breath away. How I would love to visit it again but now in Australia. When there we met up with American Scouts who were living in Germany (fathers in the Army) and some Belfast Scouts. It was a holiday I never forgot and it was lovely being able to see it again on the internet.

Visted Kandersteg 14/3 to 18/3 2004. Stayed at Doldernorn. Wonderful time, the best scenery I have ever seen. Friendly people and good food. Had a go at X country ski-ing for the first time, it was marvellous and many levels of competence catered for. We will definateley be back next year(or before). AND NOT EXPENSIVE --Wunderbar!!

I went to Kandersteg to the Scout camp a few years ago, and it was the best holiday i have ever been on! And for a 13 year old to enjoy the scenery a lot, that definately says something about Kandersteg. Just go, its the best place in the world!

I have been coming to Kandersteg since 1956 when I first stayed at the Simplon Hotel.I have visited Kandersteg some 15 times since then, I have camped at the Scout Camp, and alsdo stayed at the Hotel Des Alpes.
I met my wife at Kandersteg, and I love coming to Kandersteg and visiting the many places of interest. It has not changed very much in all those years.

I come in Kandersteg on august 2002. Good place, but Oeschinensee better. But price in restaurants on the beach very high. Beer 4 franks - 80 rubels. Like in Moscow in best restaurants. Normal price german or chech beer in Moscow 20 rubels per l buttle 0.5 . Problem #2 - cold water in the lake, then i don't swimming. Some days after i swimming in Zneneva lake without any problems.
