The festival takes place against the impressive backdrop of the Kandersteg mountain world which is immediately adjacent to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The aim of the festival is to provide all those interested with various options to try out splitboarding, to connect splitboarders with one another and to provide opportunities for them to go on tour together. A further aim of the organisers is to also incorporate environmental and safety aspects. A safety refresher course, which covers the use of avalanche transceivers, snow assessment and equipment, will also be part of the programme.
In addition to the testing options and the tours, a varied framework programme of events is also planned, which includes events like BBQs, live music, film presentations and lectures by experienced splitboarders. As part of this communal weekend, there are facilities on site for overnight stays. Catering as well as sanitary facilities are available.
