Their difficulty is almost always in the moderate range, but these selected tours set the standard very high in terms of views and adventure. The most popular routes around Kandersteg feature well-known pass summits as well as sparkling mountain lakes.

VIA ALPINA

13, 14, 15, and 16 – no fewer than four stages of the legendary long-distance hike take walkers right through our region. And behind the numbers, impressive names can be discovered, as the intermediate stops include highlights such as Hohtürli, Lake Oeschinen, and Hahnenmoos Pass.

Never is the footstep lighter than when the horizon opens. Lasting between 90 mins. and seven hours, these tours take you to the most beautiful vantage points around Kandersteg, such as the wildly romantic Gastern valley or along the Lötschberg line.

HIKING TRAILS BY THE WATER

Thanks to Kandersteg’s steep rock faces, thundering waterfalls are already part of the village scene. Cool water can also be found in swimming pools and clear mountain lakes (via local cable car).

MOUNTAIN PASSES

There are many reasons to explore other valleys from Kandersteg – to catch the sunrise, visit an alpine hut or discover a mountain lake. These classic tours in the direction of Adelboden, Kiental or even Wallis last between three and eight hours.

MOUNTAIN HIKING TRAILS
