Legendary Trails

In bygone days, horrible things must have happened in the Kiental valley! There’s talk of lightning and rock slides, phantoms and murder. At least that’s what the legends say. Go and check it all out for yourself as you hike along the Kiental legendary trails from alp to alp, and from one mythical setting to the other.

Sculpture walk Kiental

This short and easy walk presents the sculptures, which have been made by wellknown artists during the UN year of the water in 2003.

Botanical path "Stierebärgli"

Loetschberger Trail

Train buffs will love this hike. When the Lötschberg Train was installed in 1913, it was not only the first electrified train in the Alps but was also considered one of the boldest designs in this part of the world. The segment Kandersteg-Kandergrund is especially interesting since the train had to manage a vertical ascent of 300 meters in only a few kilometers.
