1892 Mountain hotel Oeschinen opened

1895 September 11th: second Altels glacier fall

1896 Acquisition of the 1806 Wimmis organ

1898 First set of skis in Kandersteg

1899 First mountain refuge hut built for climbing at the Doldenhorn

1901 Railway reaches Frutigen

1902 First Wildelsig mountain hut (today it's the Balmhorn hut)

1903 Kandersteg power station built

1904 Catholic services begin in the school house

1903/04 First winter touristic season

1904/05 First Scottish Curlers at Kandersteg

1905 Rescue station opened in Kandersteg

1906 October 15th: Work begins on Lötschbergtunnel

1908 July 24th: Tunnel collapses under the Gastern valley; New school built

1909 Januar 23rd: First meeting of provisional Kandersteg council.

1911 March 31st: Lötschberg tunnel breakthrough

1913 July 15th: BLS reaches Kandersteg an goes through the tunnel to Brig
